My Top 10 Day6 & Wonder Girls songs

These are my personal top 10 lists of Day6 songs and Wonder Girls songs, roughly based on how often I still listen to the song/add it to playlists. Both my favorite groups had album tracks that I prefer over their singles (the Wonder Girls even more than Day6) so I've mostly linked to the Spotify version here in hopes of spreading the love I have for these songs <3

Top 10 Day6 Songs

1. Day and Night
I'm obsessed with this song. Every time I listen to it, it's like the first time I've ever heard it. I think this is one of their most sophisticated compositions (note that I know nothing about music but I stand by this opinion anyway). Their vocals, lyrics, delivery, everything in this song is perfect.

2. Deep in Love
I'm also obsessed with this song. This song is a John Hughes movie with the soft focus lens of 2010s nostalgia. This song should have had a music video and it should have had numerous visual references to The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It's so unfair that this song doesn't have a music video.

3. Not Fine
I was lukewarm on this song when the album came out but a few months later I fell in love with it. For me this song hinges on Sungjin's delivery of "will we ever be fine?" and the whole emotional story of the song unfolds around that one line. It's a really beautiful vocal performance and it ALSO should have had a music video.

4. I Wait
Thankfully this song DID have a music video and it was the hottest they (hyung-line) have ever been. If Day4's next mv doesn't feature Sungjin and Young K playing their instruments in wet shirts then honestly what is the point. Anyway this song has held up for me ever since it was released and enjoys a healthy rotation in my playlists.

5. Blood
This song was my number 1 for years but I overplayed it haha. When this came out I was ENTHRALLED. Something about it just grabbed me from the beginning; it was a very cool entry on a fairly melancholy mini album.

6. Love me or Leave me
This song is like Blood's older cousin that drove in for a few days and wears great sunglasses. Honestly I don't remember to listen to this song but every time I do I'm like "omg wait this song is great" and then it enters my playlists for a while.

7. How Can I Say
I also kind of overplayed this song. I don't think it's quite as memorable as "I Wait" but that early run of their monthly songs started off so strong (before the releases got really boring) and it makes me happy to listen to; honestly I think it's a more successful pop punk number than "Shoot Me" or "Sweet Chaos." Also I had a long layover in Incheon once and went into Seoul and heard this song while walking around which was VERY exciting for me.

8. Emergency
Is this song absurd? Yes. Is the gasping noise Dowoon makes horrible? Also yes. Do I listen to it fairly regularly? Absolutely. This works for me for some reason; I keep thinking FRANTS produced it but he didn't (there's a similar entry on my Wonder Girls list below which he did produce which is the only reason I would even notice who produced what). Young K's vocals in the second verse are so hot and you all know it. I also love the mv because the absurdity of Day6 doing choreography is wonderful. They are so good at singing and so bad at dancing.

9. Out of My Mind
This is my favorite song from their first album. I mean "Congratulations" is great and I do listen to it, but it never got as many plays in my daily listening as this one.

10. days gone by
I feel like this song didn't make a splash when it came out, but I always liked it, and I still like it.

+bonus You
They never actually released this song which is unfortunate. They also took down the official video of the performance I like (Young K's rap delivery was perfect in this version) but fortunately a kind soul reuploaded it so that I can go watch it every time I remember how unfair it is that they never released a studio version.

Top 10 Wonder Girls Songs

1. Stop
THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE SINGLE FROM WONDER WORLD. I stand by this and I do not take criticism; it's the best song on the album and one of their best songs ever. Yes, I would have picked this as the single over "Me,In" even though I would have taken either one over "Be My Baby." This song holds up SO well; it's sleek and addictive and Sunye's vocals in particular are perfect for it.

2. Bad Boy
I had "Candle" in this spot at first but I switched them in the end because I think "Bad Boy" is just that good. I can't believe this came from their first mini album—before "Tell Me" came around, they were making tracks like this, and you can see a very different Wonder Girls trajectory contained in it. This song is so cool though and every time I listen to it I think, I can't believe no one knows that THIS is what the Wonder Girls sounded like.

3. Candle
This is my favorite song from Reboot. I loved Reboot at the time, but a lot of songs haven't stuck around in my playlists (probably partly because I overplayed them when they were released). I still listen to this one though. It was a great track for Wonder4 to put out, cool and catchy and tongue-and-cheek considering the whole thing is an innuendo.

4. Me,In
Remember when the album teaser came out featuring this song and we thought it was going to be the single and then the single teaser came out and it still sounded cool and then in the end JYP pulled a bait-and-switch and released "Be My Baby" as the single which was basically just a less good rehash of "Nobody" and might have been a perfectly good single if they'd had other opportunities to demonstrate growth but they never did, and also the only time they performed "Me,In" for broadcast there were really bad microphone issues rendering it almost impossible to rewatch which is so unfair because it ALSO could have set them on a different and interesting trajectory if JYP hadn't been so determined to pigeonhole them based on his naive idea of what would be successful in the US market? No? Okay well I do.

5. So Hot
Out of their golden trio of songs, this one is my favorite. I hate the Blackpink remix; I think this song is perfectly composed and delivered. Yes their live vocals at this time were terrible and they should have gotten to lipsync a lot more. That is irrelevant when we consider that "So Hot" remains catchy, the dance is so memorable, the mv was humorous, and the Wonder Girls themselves performed a rock remix which is the coolest thing ever.

6. Oppa
This song's place on this list is debatable considering it's basically a Lim solo ft. Sunmi with a guest appearance from Wonpil, but I listen to this song all the time. This is the one that was produced by FRANTS and you can hear why I keep thinking "Emergency" must have been too. Something about this song is so catchy and fun to listen to. It actually utilizes Lim's Kidz Bop vocals and reframes them into something fun and enjoyable.

7. I Wanna
There's a reason they opened so many concerts with this song. It's a banger and they sound awesome. This song is "Bad Boy's" sister and I wish they'd had more songs that went this hard.

8. One Black Night
Okay, listen. If we're going by sound alone, this song should be a lot higher on this list. I know that. So many things about this song are amazing. It's possibly one of their coolest songs ever. But every time I get to the bridge and they're singing "let me touch you there" it gets automatically demoted. How am I supposed to listen to that line. Anyway in SPITE of that line it still makes the list so the song really is just that good.

9. Sweet Dreams
Doesn't this song make you want to dance? I don't have any major commentary for this song but I think it's great.

10. beautiful boy
As I remember this was the pre-release before "Why So Lonely." I liked it better then and I still like it now.

+bonus So What
This song is so confusing—why are both Sohee and Sunmi rapping? They also sound so clearly sixteen so it's weird. But Yeeun and Sunye's vocals are just excellent and the whole song is really catchy; I think people should know about it.
